Oral gel
Consciously chosen. Thoughtfully designed.
The form of administration not only influences the application, but also how a product feels in everyday life.
An oral gel is a gel-like, semi-solid dosage form that is applied directly in the oral cavity. It allows for targeted and precisely dosable application – without solid components or separate capsule shells.
Our decision for this form is based on practical considerations: ease of use, handling and suitability for everyday use.
What distinguishes an oral gel?
Unlike solid dosage forms such as tablets or capsules, an oral gel is applied as a gel-like formulation and then swallowed as usual.
Typical characteristics:
- pleasant, even texture
- targeted application
- defined dosage
- no solid components
- Use without additional water
For many people, a gel-like texture may feel more comfortable than solid shapes¹.
The choice of texture is therefore also a matter of personal user experience.
Why texture matters
In pharmaceutical technology, a distinction is made between solid, liquid and semi-solid dosage forms².
Semi-solid systems such as gels enable:
- controlled release
- easy handling
- targeted application
- flexible use in everyday life
How ingredients are processed in the body always depends on several factors – including their chemical structure and individual physiological properties. Therefore, general statements about absorption rate or bioavailability are not possible.
Airless system – technically sophisticated
Many oral gels are filled using so-called airless systems.
This type of packaging:
- enables controlled dosing
- reduces direct contact with ambient air
- supports a clean and precise application
- facilitates handling in daily use
Choosing an airless system is a technical decision in terms of stability and user-friendliness.
Application & Everyday Life
Scientific studies show that perceived simplicity is an important factor for regular use³,⁴.
The simpler an application is perceived to be, the easier it is to integrate into existing routines.
Oral gels offer:
- structured dosing
- simple application
- discreet use
- flexible integration into the daily routine
The decision for this dosage form is based on ease of use – not on blanket promises of effectiveness.
Routine arises from repeatability. Repeatability arises from simplicity.
